The latest issue of Fieldsports Journal is guest edited by the Moorland Association’s irrepressible director Amanda Anderson. As we hurtle towards the Glorious Twelfth, this bumber issue has a definite grouse and moorland conservation theme. There’s all your favourite regular columnists such as James Percy and Tarquin Millington-Drake plus some new faces such as Sir Edward Milbank discussing the use of AI when restoring peatland and Stephen Mawle looking at non-toxic shot. Plus we are very proud to welcome Lord Moore of Etchingham, the former editor of The Daily Telegraph who writes a moving billet-doux to fieldsports. We also report on a walked-up grouse day on one of Northumberland’s most iconic moors - Tollishill. Professional gundog trainer Ben Randall has some sage words for us before we consider taking a young dog onto the grouse moor. Well worth a read before any damage is irreparably done!
