If the thought of spending an hour in the gym fills you with dread, “exercise snacking” might have caught your attention. It’s all about incorporating short bursts of exercise, around two minutes, into your daily routine to counter the negative impact a sedentary lifestyle can have. “The science is showing us that bite-sized amounts of exercise taken throughout the day are as effective, if not more effective, than an hour-long workout,” says personal trainer and wellness coach Lavina Mehta. “It’s also great for people wanting to be more active in the new year because it’s realistic and sustainable. It takes out the daunting aspect of exercise – every single minute counts.”
