WHAT’S THE STORY?
For nearly four centuries, Britain was part of one the largest empires of the ancient world. Today, it is easy to think of this period as a time of luxury and decadence, with well-groomed, Latinspeaking natives wholeheartedly embracing a more civilised, Mediterranean way of life. Needless to say, it wasn’t completely like this. Not everyone appreciated the Roman way of doing things.
