In June 2021, World Horse Welfare was called to the rescue of an abandoned foal. The filly, now named Charley, was just days old and had been taken away from her mother and dumped in a ditch. She was weak and needed emergency care at a veterinary hospital before being able to make her way to the charity’s Penny Farm. Efforts were made to track down her owner and mother, but to no avail, so Charley began being hand-raised by dedicated members of staff.
