One large, clean sponge per fossil
A large plastic container
Enough sand to fill your container
Water
Salt
Scissors
Paintbrush or other small brush
1 COLLECT THE SAND
For this experiment, you’ll need enough dry sand to fill your plastic container. When the sponge is placed in the container there should be about two centimetres of sand above and below it.
