Garioch Women for Change want to Safeguard our Scottish Health Service

Brexit efectively gives Westminster carte blanche to sweep away the very notion of a public health service
I HAD NO real idea of what was happening to the NHS in England until I heard a radio broadcast in 2017 by Professor Allyson Pollack, Director of the Institute of Health and Society at Newcastle University. Very succinctly, she highlighted the dismantling and privatisation of the NHS in England, a process that began when it was efectively de-nationalised by the 2012 Health and Social Care Act. It was chilling to discover just how far down the road of privatisation they’ve gone. And as long as Scotland is a part of the UK, what happens in England has a serious knock-on efect on our health service. You can listen to her here: (htps://wingsoverscotland.com/adivision- of-principles/)
With Tory policy already undermining the safeguards around the health service in England, Brexit efectively gives Westminster carte blanche to sweep away the very notion of a public health service, a service that should be the cornerstone of any civilised society.
