ENGLAND lifted the Student Rugby League Tri-Nations Trophy, held in Galway, Ireland, following emphatic victories over Scotland and, on Saturday, the host nation.
The competition, which was rescheduled from a Four Nations tournament after the withdrawal of Wales for personnel and funding reasons, opened on the Sunday with a victory over Ireland by Scotland, who then succumbed to England in midweek, leaving the Irish needing to beat the English by 21 points in the final match to top the standings on points’ difference.
