WIDNES VIKINGS coach Allan Coleman says Eddie Kilgannon's work on defence has laid important foundations for this season's planned play-off push.
The 46-year-old former St Helens development-system coach came on board with fellow former Widnes player Steve Tyrer in February, joining Coleman and his assistant Tom Wood on the Vikings staff.
Coleman, whose side opened their league campaign with a 44-8 home win over Barrow and now host his former club Swinton on Good Friday (after a blank weekend following their Challenge Cup elimination), reckons Kilgannon's input is already bearing fruit.
