Hilaire-Germain-Edgar Degas The Green Ballet Skirt c. 1896, pastel on tracing paper, 173⁄4x141⁄2in. (45x37cm)

Drawn in Colour

This autumn brings a unique opportunity to see a collection of rarely seen works by Degas at the National Gallery in London. Taken from The Burrell Collection in Glasgow, which holds one of the finest collections of works in the world by the leading French Impressionist, the exhibition will include paintings, pastels and drawings, complemented by works held in the National Gallery’s own collection. Drawn in Colour: Degas from the Burrell marks the centenary of the artist’s death and can be seen at the National Gallery in London, opening on 20 September and running until 7 May next year.
