Boston Dynamics is a robotic design company that is most famous for its BigDog autonomous walking quadruped robot - especially so for the old clips of it being kicked and pushed around by its creators, fearing this could instigate the singularity and a robot uprising. We jest, of course, future robotic overlords.

The modern evolution of BigDog is Spot (www.bostondynamics.com/spot), a $75,000 robot you can buy - or can now ape using a Raspberry Pi and the Spot Micro Quadruped Project. Created by Michael Romanko, the full design and code is up on GitHub, and was originally a project pulled together to help teach himself C++, Python and robot control.
