Having spent “around L100” on the alternative ‘cowboy’ sleeve of David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold The World, Gaz Coombes is Supergrass’ biggest vinyl head.
Gaz, who names Piccadilly in Manchester as his favourite record shop, says: “Vinyl has a holy place. You can over-romanticise it, but the soundbites about its warmth, character and tactile nature are all true.” Gaz’s best recent bargain was a Shangri-Las album for L3 at the local Cancer Research shop in Oxford.
