All of the neighbourhoods in England with the highest number of people with depression are in the north and the Midlands, according to new research.
Analysis by the Guardian newspaper using information from the House of Commons library and statistics gathered from GP surgeries shows a signiicant divide between London and everyone else.
Of the 15 neighbourhoods with the lowest prevalence of depression, 12 were in London, with the other three being the Isles of Scilly and two aluent pockets of Kent. The lowest rate was in the London borough of Westminster, where just 3.1% of NHS GP patients were depressed.
