CALL ME AMOUR

Genre-bending metal that refuses to be defined

PICTURE: BRADLEY HOLMAN; PRESS/BRADLEY HOLMAN

“WE’RE COMPLETELY clueless as to what we’re doing,” Geoff Murphy says with a laugh. As Call Me Amour’s core songwriter and guitarist, he enters the studio with tunes recorded in his voice memos and lyrics grasped from a dream. He has one goal in mind: to make something that sounds cool. “Sometimes we try to shoehorn a genre into what we’re doing. Either it works or we’re trying to flog a dead horse,” he explains, “but none of us are afraid to put anything out there.”
