The fallout from the pandemic and the potential health risks posed by large gatherings of people put Chris Leigh off attending exhibitions. Now he’s getting ‘back on the horse’.
I’ve always got a huge buzz out of attending or taking part in model railway exhibitions. I was exhibition manager for the very first show put on by Staines Model Railway Society back in the 1960s and I lost count, long ago, of the shows I’ve attended, either with a layout or with a magazine stand.
It all came to a horrible end with Covid. We had to cancel a show that we were planning for Barnwell village and that meant that my ‘Railway Children’
