SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, TEXAS
People attend a vigil on November 5 after a gunman killed at least 26 people at a church in this town of just a few hundred. The shooter, Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, died shortly after the attack, though, as of publication time, it wasn’t clear how. Police have yet to identify a motive, but because of the crime’s grisly nature—and because Kelley used a military style rifle—his assault is sure to intensify the debate over gun control in the U.S.
