SHEILA CLIFFORD (nee Kennedy) died peacefully in her sleep at the end of November just six weeks short of her 102nd birthday. Sheila was born at Totamore on the Isle of Coll to Hugh and Mary Kennedy in 1916. She was their second eldest child with siblings Jessie, Flora, Alec and Nina.
During the Second World War, Sheila moved to Tobermory where she worked in the NAAFI and met and married her husband George there. He was serving on the naval vessel HMS Western Isles. Her daughter Liz was born in Ayr in 1945 and they then moved to London and the rest of Sheila’s life was spent in London and Essex. She had seven children in all.
