SUNDAY saw the first town tidy of the year around Oban.
Volunteers gathered and split into three teams, while a fourth group tidied between Pennyfuir and Halfway Filling Station, Dunbeg. Other areas cleaned were Glencruitten Road, the shortcut from High Street to Tesco’s car park, Lochavullin/Black Lynn and Lochavullin Road from the mini roundabout to Crannog Lane. BID4Oban’s Derek Connery said: ‘The results were great and a big thank you to all the volunteers. Almost 30 bags of mixed rubbish were filled, with a shopping trolley and the engine cover from a car collected.’
