There is much to cheer in the week’s Oban Times, not least the imminent opening of the Royal National Mòd in Fort William and news that the residents of Ulva have been granted the right to buy their island.
There will be huge excitement across the Highlands and Islands, but especially in Lochaber, as the hundreds of competitors limber up for their annual celebration of all things Gaelic.
It is a marvellous event and one to be savoured. And, of course, The Oban Times team will be there in numbers to photograph and record all the performances and who wins what. We have a four-page pull-out which includes a full programme today, and do not miss our eight-page special section next week.
