PEOPLE in Lochaber have helped fill a 20 foot container full of donations for charity Re-Act Scotland.
The Re-Act lorry was in Corpach, Fort William, on Tuesday with volunteers from the Lochaber branch helping to load the vehicle, which was headed back to Edinburgh. On the load was 289 baby and children’s clothing and toy packs, 182 sacks of warm coats, clothes, shoes, blankets, prams, travel cots, toys, toiletries, which are now all headed for Samos in Greece.
Lorraine Wheelan from Re-Act Lochaber told The Oban Times: ‘Having the Re-Act lorry is a huge help to us. Normally once our container is full we have to pay about £150 to get a van to take the stuff down to Edinburgh, but now we can have it picked up.’
