POLICE on Skye are appealing for information after a wooden bridge was dismantled on a public path near Portree. The bridge carries the path across a burn, allowing access from Viewfield Road to the Forestry Commission walk at Shullishader.
It is believed the damage was caused sometime between the evening of April 9 and the morning of April 10.
Police Constable Lesley Campbell said: ‘The walk is frequently used by a large amount of dog walkers, joggers and cyclists, and this dismantling of the bridge has caused a considerable amount of upset in the community.’
