Argyll has welcomed the fact that Premier Inn and its parent company Whitbread plc chose a number of local contractors to work on this multimillion- pound investment, adding benefit to other sectors of the economy before its anticipated boost to the tourism sector begins.
The hotel and restaurant are on track to open at the end of this month, weather depending.
Richard Aldread, who heads Premier Inn’s new construction in the UK and Ireland said: ‘We’re progressing well with construction of the new four-storey, 80-bedroom Premier Inn and Thyme restaurant on Shore Street in Oban. ‘Whitbread, Premier Inn’s parent company, is making a multi-million-pound investment in the new hotel and restaurant, which is important to us as we are currently under-represented in the Highlands and Islands.’
