A 61-year-old man has pleaded guilty to driving at 100mph near the Bridge of Orchy Hotel.
Colin Whitelaw, of 40 Sherbrooke Avenue, Glasgow, pleaded guilty to speeding when he appeared in Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday June 20. The incident occurred on August 13 2017. Whitelaw was fined £750 and had his licence endorsed with five penalty points. Whitelaw’s defence solicitor said this was out of character for him.
He said: ‘He tells me he had been running late. He foolishly sped up to make up time.’
