IT WILL come as little surprise to anyone in Oban and Argyll that our two principal trunk roads - the A85 and A82 - are listed among the worst five routes in the country.
Motorists are all too regularly subjected to lengthy delays as a result of accidents. There is a tendency to blame the roads themselves but the truth, of course, is that accidents are caused by bad driving. However, there are actions that can be taken to reduce the frequency and severity of disruptions, including new speed limits and double white lines at key stretches.
But more consideration from drivers of slow vehicles - including caravans and campervans - by pulling over to allow cars to pass would do much to help alleviate the frustration some drivers feel and which can lead to dangerous manoeuvres.
