A man was airlified to hospital in Glasgow after he fell from Broadford Pier. Police, coastguard, ambulance and fire brigade personnel on Skye rushed to the scene at 4pm on Thursday August 30.
The 53-year-old was recovered from the water and was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, where he is being treated for his injuries.
Portree police sergeant David Canning said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of this man who has been involved in an unfortunate accident. I would also extend our thanks to the public for their quick thinking in helping to recover the man and providing medical assistance. Our enquiries are on-going to establish the full circumstances and I would ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to an officer to get in touch.’
