Teething problems
A2 in picturesque surroundings near the Trough of Bowland,
2002 AUDI A2
THERE’S NOTHING LIKE a 120-mile round trip to Brooklands, at rush hour – including the delightful section of the M25 past Heathrow – to put a recently recommissioned car to the test. After the initial bout of suspension work, a full service and a reasonably easy MoT pass, I was feeling optimistic. I had faith that my ‘new’ A2 would be up to the task.
It made it, but the journey highlighted that there is still plenty of work to be done. I might have pushed the A2 into use a little sooner than I should have, after it had been off the road for more than three years, but it was certainly the quickest way to uncover any weaknesses. An engine warning pinged on about halfway there, accompanied by a drop to three cylinders.
