Patchwork and Quilting  |  April 2016
A real mix of projects for you this month both traditional and contemporary. Our cover quilt, Trinkets, is traditional patchwork and quilting at its best. We’ve spread it over two issues as there is a lot of piecing involved. Sea View is another traditional quilt, it combines foundation pieced tiny triangles with using a pre-printed panel. For the more contemporary quilter we have a wonderful runner which features the latest collection from Lewis & Irene, The Botanist. Judith Hollies shows us how fabric placement can create a different look with her Drunkard’s Path Table Runner and Mats, while the more adventurous among you might like to experiment with different fabrics in the Sumptuous Cushion. Finally, we have the Japanese Water Lilies wall hanging which combines Japanese folded patchwork with dimensional patchwork. And amongst our features we visit Purple Stitches, a new quilt shop in Basingstoke and we also went to see the European Art Quilts exhibition. Enjoy the issue.
