Many longestablished bands have an album or two that either the artist, their fanbase or both, regard as the black sheep of their back catalogue. For Big Big Train, the consensus has gathered around 2002’s Bard. “I feel nothing about it,” bassist and leader Gregory Spawton confessed as recently as 2022. But, maybe a reconciliation is overdue?
