Jack Shenker
Now We Have Your Attention
Outside the Westminster bubble what are the social movements shaping our politics? In Now We Have Your Attention journalist Jack Shenker, who won awards for his coverage of the Egyptian revolution, takes us deep into communities hollowed out by decades of economic disadvantage: the le_- wing strikers in Cambridge, the rightwing bloggers in Newcastle and climate change protesters in Brighton. This is a vital account of how our nation is changing without us even realising it.

David Lammy
Tribes: How Our Need to Belong Can Make or Break Society
Why has tribalism in politics become so pervasive in recent years? Have we ignored for too long the essential human need to belong? What about the culture war launched by Brexit? David Lammy seeks to answer these questions in his new book Tribes, part memoir, part call-toarms. Lammy, the first black Briton to study at Harvard and Labour MP for Tottenham since 2000, has become one of parliament’s most vocal and effective campaigners on issues such as the Grenfell fire. A_er writing perceptively on the 2011 riots, he returns with a fascinating account of how people can learn to live with difference.
