The autumn equinox brings a welcome shift. Mellow light after the bright energy of summer gives an opportunity to transition to a slower pace. We take inspiration from nature – plant growth slows, animals prepare for hibernation, leaves fall from the trees as they go into a season of rest. The South Downs, where we live, work and walk our dog, Minstrel, are a beautiful reflection of this. And, as extensions of nature, it’s time for us to ‘root build’, too
