SUMMER VISITOR: L&Y Class 27 No. 52322 is operating public trains at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for the summer months.
Normally resident at the East Lancashire Railway, the 0-6-0 is owned by Andy Booth and is pictured hauling the 12.45 service from Bolton Abbey, comprising LSWR Queen Victoria saloon and three Mk.1 carriages, on July 3. On its second day in traffic, it is seen on a section of track known as the golden mile, shortly after rounding the bend from Bolton Abbey.

SCENIC DELIGHT: GER ‘Y14’ 0-6-0 No. 564 hauls the vintage carriage set at the North Norfolk Railway on July 8. The set worked four return trips each day during the line’s July 2-10 Vintage Week – the other carriage set comprising Mk.1s and the Gresley buffet car. The first weekend included a vintage vehicle rally. The NNR said 5500 passengers travelled across the nine days. The next opportunity to sample the vintage train will be the August 27-29 Bank Holiday Steam Gala.
