Inside this month: It is hard to imagine what it must be like to be at the top of your game one moment, and for your career to be over the next as a result of injury. Former St Helens star John Stankevitch does not have to imagine it, as it became a reality for him at the age of just 25. He talks to Jamie Jones-Buchanan about his experience and how he rebuilt his life afterwards. At the other end of the spectrum, Steve Menzies career shows no signs of ending just yet as the Aussie veteran enjoys a new lease of life with Catalan Dragons. Lauded by critics as one of the best players of his generation, Menzies remains modest about his achievements. We caught up with him for a chat about his still burning passion for the game. It has been a tough old year for Bryn Hargreaves having followed his former coach at Saints, Mick Potter across the Pennines to Bradford, but he remains convinced the Bulls still have something to offer the fans who have flocked back to Odsal this season. A stirring performance in the Challenge Cup against Wigan may be a sign of better things ahead for Bradford, but Swintons 112-0 defeat to Warrington has set tongues wagging again about the structure of the tournament. Is it time for an overhaul? Wolves boss Tony Smith and 1998 Cup winner Mark Aston offer us their views and we also take a trip back in time to 1929, the year the Challenge Cup first went to Wembley. Our cover star Sean OLoughlin spills the beans about his Wigan teammates in Captains Call and Dave Hadfield meets the far from identical twins Ben and Rhys Evans, plus we pay a visit to the Pacific region to find out about the latest challenge to Rugby Leagues ongoing development on the islands. We also continue our quest to complete the roll-call of Golden Boot winners with a look back at the frontrunners of 1991 and there are prizes galore on offer with books, DVDs and a signed Exiles shirt up for grabs.
