There was nothing special or dangerous about the right-hand turning from a Cornish country lane into a sleepy A-road. I slowed down, indicated properly, looked both ways and proceeded in fluid fashion as Classic FM purred from the radio. Except that I must have been daydreaming about a recent trip to Provence because I ended up on the wrong side of the road. A car was approaching on the correct side of the road from his perspective – but that wasn’t how I saw it.
