The Red Turtle, this is a wordless animation with a protagonist trapped on a strange island. This one is chased by an ominous phantom giant. The entire film was animated by Latvian director Gints Zillbalodis. Said animation is extremely rudimentary, though with lovely individual moments and a powerful soundscape. The pacing is often soporific and the meaning is ambiguous. Recommended to broadminded animation fans; anyone else should stick with the more artful Red Turtle.
