THE unpredictability of the Premiership was highlighted earlier this month when champions Leicester travelled to Newcastle, a team that has struggled in the wrong half of the table for too long, and suffered a record defeat to the Falcons.
It was only Newcastle’s 11th victory over Leicester in the Premiership era and the third in 14 years. The biggest crowd of the season at Kingston Park revelled in the rout and at its heart was an outside-half who graduated from the Falcons’ academy seven years ago having supported the club as a boy.
