Want to make your Porsche sound better without breaking the bank? Time to get welding…
For once, we’re not looking at official Porsche technology this month. Rather, we’re seeing how it’s possible to use an existing aspect of Porsche engineering in a novel way. Last month we explored the Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) option, which is a factory solution for adding more musicality to a 911. Available for the 996 onwards, it’s activated either by the driver or the car itself at certain engine speeds. Turn on PSE and valves open in the exhaust, routing the exhaust gases without the constrictions of silencers. Free from the restrictions of silencer media, more noise comes out of the tailpipes.
