I n this aimless dramedy, the career of ignorant college professor Josh (the affable Justin Long, challenging our sympathies) is threatened after he forces a student to share her sexualassault story. Awkwardly navigating a world with trigger warnings, Josh escapes by reuniting with his family after grandma is hospitalised. The posthumous presence of Sex And The City’s Lynn Cohen as the dying matriarch creates unexpected pathos. Ultimately, though, this defence of privileged, out-of-touch people offers a pointless perspective on today’s cultural climate.
