Go Fast Fishing Expedition Tacoma

A little water crossing won’t slow down this Tacoma.

Back in 2005, Morgan Shulda found himself stumbling out of a tiny local pub in Silverton, Colorado. The altitude had hit him hard, on top of dehydration from a long day of backcountry skiing in fresh, deep powder. Outside the bar in the snow was a first-gen Toyota Tacoma access cab fully outfitted for adventure.

Shulda looked the truck up and down ogling its many features. The Tacoma was outfitted with a truck-cap, exoskeleton-rack, a propane tank and more expedition toys than he knew existed. It was also lifted, outfitted with aggressive AT tires, big bumpers and rock sliders. Many other upgrades were fitted, as well, most he just couldn’t comprehend at the time, as he came from the European tuner car world.

Shulda was on a cross-country trip with a friend from his home in Massachusetts to Utah in his B5 Audi A4. Heading down the mountain the next day, the car started to run on only three of its four-cylinders, a common coil pack issue with this model. After checking with the closest auto parts store and Audi dealer for new parts to no avail, and a big winter storm bearing down on them, they limped on with only three cylinders.

Of road, this Tacoma’s natural habitat.
Coming or going, this Tacoma looks good doing it all.

”ON BIG TRIPS, ESPECIALLY TO REMOTE LOCATIONS, IT’S IMPORTANT TO HAVE ALL THE GEAR YOU NEED, AND HAVE IT SECURED AND PROTECTED PROPERLY.”

The Go Fast Camper makes setting up shelter and a bed super simple and quick.

The next big hill on the road had them struggling. The very same fully built Tacoma from the night before passed them in the blinding snow like they were standing still. The rest of that agonizing drive, he just couldn’t get that truck out of his head.
