Tell us about your own vegan journey and a little bit about you now.
Back when I was 16 and first became vegetarian, I did not know anyone who was vegetarian and had not heard of veganism at all. It was like this for quite a few years for me; I was the unusual person in my group of friends because I didn’t eat meat. It is wonderful to see how different things are now and how many vegans there are in the world. My decision to go vegan came about after reading an article in a vegan magazine in New Zealand. There was a part in this article where the author said to imagine an alien race came to earth and put us all on farms, made the females continuously reproduce, take their babies and hook them up to milking machines while killing most of the males. It was like a light switched on in my mind and I decided to become vegan at that moment. I have never regretted it — I only wonder why it took me so long.
