Steve Carlton pitched for the Cardinals from 1965- 71 before being traded to the Phillies, where his career really took off. He won four Cy Young awards in Philly.
While he could swing the stick, it was on the mound where Fergie Jenkins (here crossing the plate after homering in 1971), fashioned a Hall of Fame career, winning 284 games with a 3.34 ERA over 19 seasons. He won the NL Cy Young Award in 1971.
Tom Seaver won 1967 National League Rookie of the Year honors, and went on to capture three N.L. Cy Young awards with the Mets.
