Amidst a backdrop of gang violence, Lou Cervantes and friend Andrew ‘Popeye’ Iniguez emerged out of Santa Ana, California, to create something rather special. Their band, The Desperados, “four savage young rockin’ rollers”, began when these two former drummers ditched the sticks, with Slim now on vocals and guitar, and Popeye on the upright. Their brand of modern rock’n’roll landed via 2013’s debut On The Rampage and follow-up Won’t Be Broken is essential listening. With shows at Viva Las Vegas, Nashville Boogie, all over Europe, and as far afield as Mexico and Japan, these guys are at the top of their game. Jump onboard, if you can keep up…
