The Rental Kart World Contest was yet another major international endurance event organized by CRG with its Centurion karts. The 2018 edition took place at the Pomposa track in Emilia Romagna and hosted 30 teams from 10 different countries. With a classic race setting that included Drivers Parade and a Le Mans-style start, the race lasted 10 hours and saw the weather change drastically: after two hours from the start on dry, substantial rainfall upset all the teams’ plans, as well as causing several run-offs and consequent changes in the classification. Then, late in the afternoon, the rains stopped and the race ended in the always fascinating nighttime setting typical of these races. After obtaining pole position by 76 thousandths on the Danish ATR Team Brask, the Red Enemy 1 crew with Zipoli-Kanah-Santolini managed to win the race for the second consecutive year, ahead by 1 lap (out of a total of 394) of rival ATR Team Brask of Paoleschi- Morin-Andersen. In 3rd place was the Steel Ring Gold team of Polasek-Kurka- Matyas-Birgus-Mikula-Midrla, from the Czech Republic, who managed to obtain the last position on the podium thanks to their great pace during the most rainy stages of the race. Among the amateurs racing in the Silver Cup, the best was the BRT team with Ledda- Montanari-Cavallini, 11th absolute.
