The last few years may sometimes have felt lonely, seemingly more isolated than ever before. And although the lockdown era may have ended, the sense of community, consideration and care we showed for others during that time is worth clinging to, holding close like a warm blanket. In our fast-paced “new normal” world, where things are open, cancellations are few and it feels like we’re making up for lost time, take a moment to pause, breathe and offer someone a helping hand or a listening ear. Check in with a loved one to remind them you care, collect groceries for an elderly neighbour, leave a care package on the doorstep of a sick friend. In your time of need, perhaps others will do the same in return. Community, whether near or far, unites us, instils a sense of purpose and belonging. Because from the ashes of hard times, fragments of beauty can be found and treasured: kindness, connection, compassion.
