HOLLY I did it. I actually did it. I still can’t quite believe that I can say this, but I ran the 2025 TCS London Marathon. Here’s how I found the whole experience – and some tips for you if you’re thinking of taking on a marathon yourself…
The week before
1.Wash your hands all the time! I had taken every step of my training super seriously and followed my taper to a tee, but this didn’t stop a tickly cough from creeping up in the final days before the race itself and threatening to ruin my day. Luckily, I dosed myself up on enough cough medicine (non-drowsy!) to sink a ship beforehand and it buggered off just in time, but I wished that I’d been a bit more careful to wash my hands, drink ginger shots and sanitise everything the week before!
