What to look for
Style
Sports bras generally come in two designs: compression and encapsulation. Compression bras control movement by pressing your breasts against the chest, while encapsulation bras have two cups, individually supporting each breast. Some bras combine both design types. Ladies with larger cup sizes may find encapsulation bras more suitable, however this often comes down to personal preference. Ladies with larger boobs will benefit, though, from bras with wide, padded shoulder straps to reduce pressure on the shoulders and a wide underband to provide anchorage beneath the bust. Racerback designs (with a T-strap down the centre back) also help reduce shoulder pressure.
Fastenings
Traditional hook-and-eye fastenings on the bra band make them more adjustable, but some feature softer hook fastenings that can be more comfortable on the run.
Seams
For complete comfort, especially if you’re upping your distance, go for soft-seam or seamfree inner cups.
