I agree with Margaret James when she says ‘Get in touch with the real you, then your fiction should flow’ in ‘Find the real you’ (Fiction focus, WM Dec). When I started to write about autistic children in my fiction, I found my niche and the ideas flowed. I have Asperger’s Syndrome myself and base my characters’ lives closely on what I was like as a child. So, in a way I do write about the real me. Thank you, Margaret, for confirming what I felt was right about my writing.
