Some members might even work for the emergency services or have had call to be on the receiving end of their services. We know that programmes have researchers and advisors from the professions they are portraying in order to keep some realism and accuracy to the shows, but having people with real experience of working in that field cannot be replaced by watching TV shows or reading fiction based on it.
