A great day out
If you haven’t yet made plans for the bank holiday weekend then the Newlyn Fish Festival on 31st August is the perfect excuse to get some sea air. Taking place at one of Britain’s largest fishing ports, the festival was initially founded in 1991 to help raise money for The Fisherman’s Mission and now welcomes thousands of visitors each year. As well as lots of fish, you can expect cooking demonstrations from top chefs, live music and family-friendly activities. The popular Great Cornish Fish Off competition will be back too to put competitors’ imagination and cookery skills to the test. Tickets cost £5 and under 16s go free.
