Sigma to join Nikon’s mirrorless revolution
Development announcement confirms trio of f/1.4 primes for Nikon Z bodies with crop sensors, with 16mm, 30mm and 56mm focal lengths
While the new optics are DX lenses designed for Nikon’s growing roster of APS-C Z-series cameras – the Nikon Z 50, Nikon Z fc and Nikon Z 30 – they should also be compatible with FX Z-series cameras, which will automatically crop to accommodate them. Sitting within Sigma’s Contemporary range, the trio of lenses is already available for Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X, Leica L-mount and Sony E-mount. Each lens offers a super-quick maximum aperture of f/1.4 and a minimum aperture of f/16. There are nine rounded aperture blades in all three optics, and interior technology has been specially developed for Nikon’s Z-mount interchangeable lenses. No release date or price has been supplied so far for these lenses.
