֎ The theme for this issue of Digital Photographer is centred on building a more sustainable future for the photography industry. Not only do we have opportunities to make our photo work more eco-friendly, but we can also use our images to promote a greener world. This process starts with looking more closely at our own workflow, whether professional or enthusiast, and finding the weakest points in terms of its environmental impact.
One such area, which many photographers may not think about, is web hosting. Since it is not a direct impact of our business upon the environment, it’s easy to overlook our online exploits as damaging. Hosting many hundreds of websites is energyhungry – but yours isn’t the only one your web host is supporting, of course.
