FOR MY LITTLE SISTER
Dear Team DIVA. My sister Amy came out recently and introduced us to her fab partner, Naomi. After so many years where she’d never seemed truly happy, it’s amazing to see her blossom.
I worried that our children might judge her sexuality – unfounded – and was inspired to write a poem to give context to young children. Every girl deserves a big fairytale wedding – if that’s what they want. I would love this to be turned into a picture book in the future. As a parent, I think it would be so cool to have a story for tinies where an LGBT relationship was magical, as well as normal and accepted.
